2019 was a busy year for us. We began the year launching our writing competitions. One was to to find a one act play to bring to the stage. The winner was Henry Nolan from Birmingham with hi s play Cradle to Grave. and we are currently working with Henry with the hope of staging the work as soon as circumstances permit.
In our second competition we asked people to submit pieces on the topic of emigration under the title “Leaving”. We held our winners evening in February at the London Irish Centre in Camden. Click here to listen to recordings of the winning entries
May 2019 saw us take part in the Wandsworth Fringe Arts Festival where we held two very successful “Shows from the Songs” events.
In June 2019 we staged two events at the Irish Cultural Centre in Hammersmith. The first was a reprise of “Shows From the Songs”, the second was a new venture for us : Radio Play in a Day where the participants had a lot of fun learning improvisation skills and how to put together sound effects before we went onto to record a play about aliens landing on the earth.
We also ran three writing workshops at the Irish Centre in Hammersmith in January, February and March.
