Green Curtain Theatre are looking for children aged twelve years and under who would like to appear on a video to celebrate Irish culture that we are making for St Patrick’s Day 2022.
We are not looking for professionals – just children who enjoy performing in front of a camera. Most of the children who appeared in last year’s video had never done this before. The children may perform on their own or with one or more members of their family, who can be of any age.
The children can choose what to perform but the pieces will need to have some connection to Ireland as the video is being produced for St Patrick’s Day.
The children may choose to do any of the following:
We have two booklets with more information and ideas of pieces you can perform:
TAKING PART – HOW IT WORKS
The videos / short films of the children performing will be recorded remotely. This is because we want to make it as easy as we can for everyone across Great Britain to take part. There are two ways in which you can do this.
Firstly by arranging for us to video the children remotely in their own homes using Zoom software. This is easily available and free. We will help you with all the technical bits and it won’t cost you any money.
We plan to do the recording in the last two weeks of February / first ten days in March. This will involve two sessions, usually about 30 minutes.
- the first is a rehearsal session which will give your child a chance to do a run through and allow us to to see if everything will work from a technical perspective
- the second will be the actual recording session.
Secondly by taking your own video and sending it to us. Please get in touch with us as soon as possible if you would prefer to do the filming yourself. We can have a chat and give you the guidelines about what we need. Please refer to this document in the first instance. Tips for filming on Smartphone
