We have some great events planned for the coming year including play writing workshops, writing callouts, performances and play readings. Keep your eye on this page as we will be adding to it.
Writing For the Stage Workshop Birmingham
Why not begin the year by doing something new? Unlock your creative voice in this one‑day theatre writing course. Designed for beginners and open to all levels of ability, this workshop will guide you through the essentials of writing for the stage, beginning with monologues.
Our final workshop of the season is coming up soon, and this time we’re heading to Birmingham. We had great fun in London and Chelmsford with participants describing the day as “inspirational” and “so much fun.”
Saturday 7th March
10am–4pm
Birmingham & Midland Institute, Margaret Street, B3 3BS
£25 + booking fee
This workshop is suitable for complete beginners as well as more experienced writers. Whether you’ve never written a word before or you’ve been scribbling away for years, you’ll be very welcome.
During the day, we’ll focus on how to write powerful, engaging monologues — a fantastic skill for anyone interested in theatre, storytelling, or exploring character through voice. You’ll leave with new tools, new confidence, and (we hope) a spark of inspiration.
We’ll start by building, vivid, believable characters before moving on to how to give your character a voice that feels authentic.
The afternoon session will be dedicated to bringing it all together by creating a short collaborative play of interwoven monologues on the theme of: “Getting Together”
